Furthermore 27 of Africa’s 30 largest economies have seen rapid expansion since 2000. To be sure, Africa’s economic pulse has quickened, infusing the continent with a new and much needed socio-economic and commercial vibrancy.

With a collective GDP, approaching $2.1 trillion, Africa is now far and away the fastest growing continent in the world, and much of this growth can be attributed to the following sectors – Commodities, Telecommunications, Finance, Agriculture, Construction, and Manufacturing. These sectors grew as a consequence of improved political and macro/micro-economic reforms, all within a context of aggressive privatization of state-owned industries across the entire continent; for example – Nigeria privatized more than 116 enterprises between 1999 and 2006 alone, revolutionizing Nigeria’s Telecommunications and Banking sectors in the process.
